About FitCalCalc

Our Mission
FitCalCalc was built with one goal: to give everyone free access to accurate, science-backed fitness and nutrition calculators. No paywalls, no forced sign-ups, no confusing jargon. Just the numbers you need, explained clearly.
Whether you're trying to lose weight, build muscle, track your macros, or test your strength potential — we believe the math should be simple and the tools should be free.
Why We Built This
Most calorie and macro calculators on the web either hide results behind email walls or use outdated formulas without telling you. We do neither. Our default formula — Mifflin-St Jeor — is the current gold standard recommended by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. We also provide Harris-Benedict as an option because transparency matters.
We're fitness enthusiasts, not a faceless corporation. This site is maintained by real people who use these tools themselves. When we noticed most free calculators lacked unit switching, macro customization, or weight loss timelines, we built it all in one place.
What You'll Find Here
- TDEE & Macro Calculator — Calculate your daily calorie burn and personalized macro split using Mifflin-St Jeor or Harris-Benedict formulas. Choose from Balanced, Keto/Low-Carb, High-Protein, or Plant-Based diet modes.
- BMI Calculator — Instant body mass index reading with healthy weight range for your height. Works with both imperial and metric units.
- 1RM Strength Calculator — Estimate your one-rep max using the Epley or Brzycki formulas. Includes a full percentage table for programming your training.
- Weight Loss Timeline — See how long it realistically takes to reach your goal weight at different deficit levels.
Our Approach to Accuracy
We are transparent about what our calculators can and cannot do:
- All formulas are clearly labeled so you know exactly what you're getting.
- We include appropriate disclaimers — TDEE is an estimate, BMI is a screening tool, and 1RM formulas are approximations.
- We default to the most scientifically validated formulas and provide alternatives for comparison.
- Our guidance aligns with established public-health authorities, including the CDC and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
- All calculations happen entirely in your browser. No data is ever sent to our servers.
Your Privacy
FitCalCalc is a purely client-side calculator. Your height, weight, age, and goals are processed locally in your browser and stored only if you choose to save them (via localStorage). We do not collect, store, or share any personal data. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Important Medical Disclaimer
FitCalCalc provides estimates for informational purposes only. Our calculators are not medical devices and do not provide medical, nutritional, or fitness advice. Always consult a licensed healthcare professional — a doctor, registered dietitian, or certified personal trainer — before starting any weight loss program, diet, or exercise regimen. See our Terms of Service for full details.
Our Editorial Standards
Because fitness and nutrition are health topics, we hold our content to a documented standard. Every calculator formula is sourced from peer-reviewed or industry-standard research (listed on our References page), and every article goes through research, fact-checking, and review against public-health guidance from bodies such as the CDC, ACSM, NIH, WHO, and Mayo Clinic. Our full process — including how we handle corrections and how advertising does not influence our results — is published on our Editorial Standards page.
